Its been There.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I feel soo lucky to work on the things that I do. Its history in my hands and my mind wanders as to where it's been and who used it. So enter this piece.

Its a great piece, I just felt it needed some enhancement. I chose to do some hand-painting on this one and I do like the overall effect.

I'm happy with the way it turned out, and I can see me trying this again.:)

Oh My Husband.

My husband  and I were reconfiguring a piece of furniture for someone and in a moments fit of frustration he blurted out, "I'm not a furniture maker you know", I beg to differ with him.

He built me two of these sidetable/dressers.

Two built-in wardrobes, with a window seat.

One hall tree.

A trundle bed.

Plus the countless other things like my upper top porch, my window boxes, my new gardens, my fireplace, my library bookshelf just to name a few.

If I could go through each house we've owned, and tell you everything he's built, it would be an extremely long list. He has a gift that I'm truly thankful for.

And that reconfigured furniture looks lovely, as the things he does usual do. :)

Field Trip!

We took a trip to all things shiny, and I can't tell you how excited I was to take this trip.

We checked out Can Am RV online and saw that they had a 1971 trailer and so we were hoping to get ideas from it for our little trailer. So off we went on our little adventure.

What I can't get over is how classic these trailers are even when they are this old.

Over my shoulder is the oven. We all thought that was pretty cool.

See how the table tucks away for more living space. No tip outs required in these trailers, there is plenty of room.

I know I've become a little obsessed with these, but who wouldn't when you see this.

I'm telling you, I was like a kid in a candy shop.

And then we saw this little cutie.

I believe she was a 1961.

While I wiped away the drool and composed myself, we chatted with the folks there and got lots and lots of information. We now have a better understanding of what's in store for us, and I can hardly wait.:)
